Toseina 2 mg/ml is a drug capable of producing different actions. It is used to eliminate cough by acting on the cough center located at the medullary level.
It is also capable of calming pain (produces analgesia), by reducing the effects of endorphins (molecules that are involved in the transmission of pain) found in the brain and spine.
It can also be used in the treatment of diarrhea because it decreases bowel movements.

Composition of Toseina 2 mg/ml
The active substance is codeine phosphate hemihydrate. Each ml of oral solution contains 2 mg of codeine phosphate hemihydrate.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: sodium benzoate (E-211), citric acid monohydrate, hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium saccharin, aspartame (E-951), sorbitol (E-420), counter flavor, raspberry essence, azorubin (E -122) and purified water.

This medicine is a red solution that is presented in bottles of 100 and 250 ml, accompanied by a measuring cup.
Possible side effects Toseina 2 mg/ml
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Be aware that many of the effects may be symptoms of your illness and will therefore improve as you begin to feel better.
Although the frequency of adverse effects is not known, as it cannot be estimated from the available data, these are: constipation, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and drowsiness.
Seizures, mental confusion, altered mood (joy or sadness) and itching have also been described. Skin rashes may appear in allergic patients.
At high doses and in the long term, it can cause respiratory depression (breathing slowly or with insufficient force)
What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical help. A codeine overdose can be fatal, especially in a child or other person using the medicine without a prescription. Overdose can cause severe muscle weakness, cold and clammy skin, pinpoint pupils, very slow breathing, extreme drowsiness, or coma.
What to avoid
Do not drink alcohol. Dangerous side effects or death could occur.
Codeine may impair your thinking or reactions. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine will affect you. Dizziness or severe drowsiness can cause falls or other accidents.
