Description
B+ Spores represent a well-documented genetic line within the Psilocybe cubensis species and are widely referenced in mycological literature due to their distinctive morphological traits. Originally associated with subtropical environments in the southeastern United States, this strain has been noted for its robust spore production and clearly observable characteristics under microscopic examination.
From a taxonomic perspective, B+ has been studied for features such as dark purplish-brown spores, subellipsoid spore shape, adnate to adnexed gill attachment, and a distinctive gelatinous pellicle observed on young, well-hydrated caps. These traits have made B+ a frequent subject in comparative studies within the Psilocybe cubensis group. Spores themselves contain no psilocybin or psilocin and are commonly used for microscopy, taxonomy, and genetic documentation, subject to local regulations.
